Caritas Philippines launched Halalang Marangal 2022, a coalition of 20 faith-based and civic organizations committed to Clean, Accurate, Responsible, and Transparent Elections on September 28, 2021 via Zoom and FB Live on its FB page (Halalang Marangal Launch )
The coalition in its Unity Statement, “reaffirms that any electoral exercise is a God-given instrument where the people, as the sovereign principles in a democracy, choose who will be their agents in government tasked to protect and uphold human dignity and the common good. And that the voice of the people, especially the vulnerable and the marginalized, will be heard and respected”.
At the core of its activities is the 7-point agenda for the upcoming national and local elections on May 9, 2022. It seeks to engage citizens in all phases of the elections to ensure that the duly elected officials are those who are servant-leaders.
The movement continues to seek partnerships with organizations and individuals who share its ideals and initiatives to widen its influence in the results in the upcoming elections.
